Week of the Cross – Resources
Special music, inspired reading & a personal Communion Ceremony with a focus on healing & forgiveness
Beloved Family of God;
In Remembrance: When preparing for the Week of the Cross each year, we are reminded of the powerful Love which our Heavenly Father has for us as we “remember” the teachings & sacrifice of Jesus…all leading to the moment when the Resurrection Power was released as the rock was rolled away. In this annual sojourn of soul, we also “remember” the importance of continuing in mercy and grace every day as part of the process of becoming “spiritual in nature.”
“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” 2 Timothy 3:12 (KJV)
Dying to the “Self-Nature”: Scripture teaches us that we will suffer difficulties along the way; and though few of us will have to endure the extremes that a death upon a cross involves, nonetheless, each of us must face “death to the self-nature” (akin to the third element of Baptism – Fire) when knee-jerk responses & habits of the “old nature” are replaced over time, with responses originating from “The New Man” within us. This is no easy task and it does require great perseverance. But Jesus promised that He would not leave us without help; thus we have many elements to support us in our resolve, the first of which is the Blessed Holy Spirit of Grace. He also passed to us the beautiful and healing Communion Service (“This do in remembrance of me” Luke 22:19 KJV,) we have our magnificent Holy Scriptures; and we have each other for mutual support and encouragement.
“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever” John 14:16 (KJV)
By Belief & by Faith we finish: When we first came to the Cross, we “entered” the Body of Christ by our Belief; and with our Faith we know that God can finish what He started in us, if we hold to the Spirit and continue to walk in the Mercy. Therefore I wish you a marvelous season of renewal and revival and along with my best wishes, I include in this post a number of resources for your enjoyment. God Bless you abundantly!
Sincerely,
