Lighthouse Leadership - To be a Lighthouse

“As we walk in Mercy and by Grace, His Love is with us every place.”

“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.”Matthew 7:20 (KJV)

Lighthouse Leaders: At Message of the Lighthouse, we define “Lighthouse Leaders” as those of us who are fully committed to learning what it means to walk daily in Mercy while holding to Grace (which is The Spirit of God).

Our hope is, that in so doing, the Spirit might “Witness” through us in a natural way, and be felt by others in the love and caring that is shared, everywhere we happen to be, whether words are spoken about our faith …or not.

“And it is the Spirit that beareth Witness, because the Spirit is Truth”- 1 John 5:6 (KJV)

Keeping our focus on God: Lighthouse Leaders are not perfect people, nor do we respond well in every situation, but we are dedicated to keeping our focus on God and learning from our mistakes. We believe in seeing and perceiving others (as well as ourselves) by the potential we have "in Christ” regardless of our capacity to be Christ-like today.

“And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, even us whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles” - Romans 9:23-24 (KJV)

Staying committed to the process of transformation: Thus, we are committed to reaching out for the Spirit again and again as we move through life’s experiences, until we become a spiritual or spiritually-motivated soul.

"That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." - John 3:6 (KJV)

Becoming vessels for the Light of God: We hope that as the Light of God shines through us, we might become Vessels of Honor who can be used by God to bring hope, comfort, and peace to others.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” - Matthew 5:16 (KJV)

Expressing our love for God: As Lighthouse Leaders, we welcome expressions of Love for God to include traditional acts of worship found in religious bodies or cultural events, yet some of us may or may not be among those who express their love for God through religious practices and rituals or by belonging to groups.

Studying about God & Understanding the Doctrine of Christ: As Lighthouse Leaders, we are committed to the ongoing study of Scripture; however, our priority is not the proliferation of the doctrine or specific theology of man-made organizations, religious groups, denominations, or non-denominations.

Rather, we embrace the simple, but profound Doctrine of Christ, as we seek with all of our hearts, souls, minds, and strength… to become vessels of the living Spirit of God; so that His Love might be seen and felt through us, everywhere we go, regardless of which man-made organization might happen to provide the framework for our faith.  See Matthew 5:16 (KJV)

"Though shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, though shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." - Matthew 22:37-40 (KJV)

Following the leading of the Spirit of God: As Lighthouse Leaders, we are not necessarily highly “educated” by worldly or religious standards; and though we seek the leading of the Spirit, as well as the wisdom found in Scriptures, we may or may not have a propensity for being able to memorize or quote copious amounts of Scriptures.

We may or may not hold a formal position in the Body of Christ or be decorated with titles, degrees, or accolades as designated by man-made groups.

If and when we are "called to serve," then the Holy Ghost (guiding element of God) will make this known to us and to those in authentic leadership around us (who will confirm the calling); as it is the Holy Ghost "Who" determines where we belong in ministry and "Who" fully leads us to the appropriate mentors and resources which then, prepare us for any mission to which we are called.

"Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God, which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual." - 1 Corinthians 2:12-13 (KJV)

Responding to a Calling of the heart and soul: “Lighthouse Leadership” is not an official "biblical" term or part of “Governments” or “Helps” as described in the New Testament; the term “Lighthouse Leadership in Action” as applied at Message of the Lighthouse, describes a calling of the heart and soul” which we pray that every Christian will embrace: that each might become a Lighthouse, that the Spirit can bear Witness through every one of us, and that we might bring comfort and kindness to others, everywhere we go.

Sharing the Message of the Lighthouse: Though there are some in the Body who are called to walk in the “Office of Evangelism,” each one of us can and should aspire to “Be the living bearer of the Good News.”

For more on Sharing the Message with Love/Effective Evangelism, please see the article, "Sharing the Message with Love."

As “each one reaches one” with love and compassion, we can all bring the Message of what Jesus offers to others: in the way we continue to seek God, in the way in which we live our lives, and in how we express our hearts.

One Spirit, many Souls: The power of the Spirit to touch lives through a single person must never be underestimated; though we are many parts of One Body, there is but One Spirit working through us, (that is, for those who mind the Spirit) which can bind us together in love and peace.

“For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one Body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.” - 1 Corinthians 12:13 (KJV)

Who can be a Lighthouse Leader?

It is our belief at Message of the Lighthouse, that anyone who makes a firm commitment to learn to walk in Love and Mercy as exemplified by Jesus, can be a Lighthouse Leader.

Anyone who seeks to depend daily on Grace (by the leading of the Spirit of God) and who wishes to be used of God to be a blessing to others can be a Lighthouse Leader.
